Seasonal vaccine (once a year). Most brands - 0.5 mL (Fluzone - 0.25 mL, Fluzone Intradermal - 0.1 mL). One dose.

Prevents 1 case of influenza infection when the vaccine is given to 71 adults. Prevent 1 influenza-like-illness (including similar symptoms due to other viruses and causes) when the vaccine is given to 40 adults. Does not prevent complications or hospitalization.
Unclear. More research needed. Irritating side effects: soreness, redness, and/or swelling from the shot; headache, fever, cough, nausea, muscle aches, itching, sore eyes.
